Automation Engineer | Spring Lake, MI

Salary Range: $78,000 - $123,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement industrial automation solutions for manufacturing processes.
• Program and configure PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and industrial robotics.
• Perform commissioning, testing, and validation of new automation equipment and systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex automation system failures and performance issues.
• Optimize existing automation processes for efficiency, reliability, and throughput improvements.
• Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for all automation systems.
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to integrate automation solutions.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell, Mitsubishi) and HMI/SCADA development.
• Experience with industrial robotics, motion control systems, and vision systems.
• Strong understanding of industrial networking protocols (e.g., EtherNet/IP, PROFINET) and data acquisition.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex automation systems and implement robust solutions.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with industrial data analytics platforms (e.g., MES, historians, OEE systems).
• Familiarity with industrial networking protocols (e.g., EtherNet/IP, PROFINET) and OT cybersecurity best practices.
• Proficiency with machine vision systems (e.g., Cognex, Keyence) for quality inspection and guidance.
• Lean Six Sigma certification or demonstrated application of continuous improvement methodologies.
