Accounts Receivable Specialist – Construction Industry

Our client, a well-established construction firm, is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to join their accounting team. This role plays a key part in managing the company’s billing, collections, and project accounting processes while supporting overall financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit monthly AIA billing applications (G702/G703) to clients in a timely and accurate manner

• Coordinate and track the collection of subcontractor and vendor lien waivers

• Research and resolve any billing or payment discrepancies to ensure accuracy

• Monitor collections by following up on open invoices and maintaining current accounts receivable aging reports

• Review and reconcile project budgets and job cost reports for accuracy and completeness

• Maintain organized and up-to-date contract and change order documentation within the accounting system

• Assist with bank reconciliations , quarter-end close activities, and the annual financial audit

• Provide general accounting support and take on additional tasks as needed to contribute to team success

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of accounts receivable or construction accounting experience required

• Solid understanding of accounting principles specific to the construction industry

• Working knowledge of AIA billing, lien releases, and retention

• Experience with ComputerEase and Procore software is a plus

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and the full Office Suite

• Exceptional attention to detail , strong organizational skills , and the ability to meet deadlines

• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively

• Clear and professional communication skills

• A proactive mindset and desire to grow within a dynamic organization
