ACCOUNTANT - TAX SPECIALIST Location: Lubbock, TX
Employment Type: Full-time, Direct Hire
Compensation: $60,000-$80,000 (DOE)
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY Snelling is recruiting a
Tax Specialist on behalf of a long-standing, reputable CPA firm in Lubbock, Texas. This organization is known for its deep client relationships, technical tax expertise, and commitment to delivering personalized, high-quality financial solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Prepare, review, and file federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, and partnerships.
- Develop and implement strategic tax planning initiatives to optimize client financial outcomes.
- Maintain full compliance with evolving federal and state tax laws and regulations.
- Research complex tax issues and prepare clear, actionable recommendations.
- Manage a diverse portfolio of client relationships with professionalism and discretion.
- Provide expert tax consulting to clients and internal teams, aligning with business and compliance objectives.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify tax-saving opportunities and process improvements.
- Efficiently manage all aspects of tax accounting, reporting, and documentation.
QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or active CPA pursuit preferred).
- Experience in public accounting or a tax-focused environment required.
- Comprehensive understanding of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Exceptional analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
- Proficient in QuickBooks and professional tax preparation software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a client-service mindset.
