Position Summary/ Department Summary:
Brief Overview
Physician Assistant Opening in Plastic and Oral Surgery Department supporting Plastic Surgeons and Oral and Maxillofacial (OMFS) Surgeons.


Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive healthcare services to patients of all ages and with all types of conditions
• Elicit histories, perform examinations, perform and interpret diagnostic studies
• Perform therapeutic procedures, instruct and counsel patients about their diagnosis
• Respond to clinical needs, and facilitate the appropriate referral of patients, consistent with his or her supervising physician's scope of expertise and responsibility and delegated to him/her by the supervising physician
• Perform and/or assist with intravenous sedations in the office-based setting
• Provide all aspects of pre-operative and post-operative care, as well as first or second assisting during surgery
• Working mainly in the Boston and Waltham locations with the possibility of travel to other satellite locations.
• Schedule is 40 hours per week: 4, 10-hour shifts Monday through Friday

Minimum Qualifications
Education:

• Masters in Physician Assistant Studies

Experience:

• The knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts typically acquired through completion of an accredited Physician Assistant's program

• The analytical skills to resolve highly complex problems requiring the application of clinical, scientific, or technical principles, theories and concepts and in-depth, cross-functional experience-based knowledge
• Strong communication skills to effectively deal with conflicting views or issues and medicated fair solutions, and well-developed writing skills
• A strong interest in and understanding of the Plastic and Oral Surgery disciplines strongly preferred

Licensure/ Certifications:

• A current license from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to practice as a Physician Assistant.

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.

Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
