Pay Range: $74,000-81,000/annually

The Job: 
As the Personal Training Manager you will be leading  the team of personal Trainers who deliver customized fitness programs and support members in developing healthier habits. You will be responsible for driving revenue through personal training and small group training services, meeting monthly revenue targets, and maintaining a strong pipeline of clients. In addition, you will be mentoring and developing the training team to strengthen their skills, improve performance, and ensure a high level of service for members.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Hire, train, audition and guide a high-performing personal training team
  • Supervise personal trainers on a day-to-day-basis to ensure overall success of the department by communicating departmental vision, goals and strategy, job expectations, coaching and fostering continued professional and skill development
  • Achieve personal training department revenue and profitability goals by managing sales performance, sessions serviced, the quality of personal training experience and labor management
  • Design, develop, promote and help sell fitness programs that meet the needs of the current and potential gym members while driving engagement and building relationships
  • Responsible for managing the schedule and the administration of payroll.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • 4-year college degree. Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Fitness, Nutrition emphasis preferred but not required
  • Nationally Certified Training Certificate required
  • Previous personal training management experience preferred but not required
  • A passion for personal training, fitness and health with an upbeat and positive attitude!
  • Exceptional customer service skills; able to interact in a positive and professional way with members and co-workers, exceeding the member’s expectations
  • Knowledge of anatomy, functional exercise, basic nutrition, and basic exercise science
  • Stay up to date on current and required certifications and industry trends
  • Self-starter, highly motivated, organized, with good time management and great follow-up skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to problem solve, take initiative, set priorities, handle multiple projects and exercise good judgment in a fast-paced, dynamic, deadline-driven environment
  • Punctuality and reliability are a must
  • Demonstrate diplomacy in all interactions while using appropriate behavior and language
  • Current CPR/AED Certification required
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office products, specifically Word and Excel
  • Experience with personal training and different styles of group exercise classes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  Ability to communicate information clearly in English, written & oral
  • Proven ability to prioritize a large workload and work within time constraints
  • Genuine interest in listening & helping other people achieve their health and wellness goals
  • Team player with an emphasis on Team development
  • Professional appearance and phone manner
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays when needed
  • Positive, upbeat and enthusiastic about working in a non-profit environment
