About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our growing telehealth team as an independent contractor. This individual has the ability to work a variety of different shifts, 100% remotely. The PMHNP role involves providing comprehensive psychiatric care to individuals dealing with anxiety and depression across the lifespan through live synchronous video sessions and asynchronous messaging. The PMHNP will be responsible for medication management and delivering talk therapy. 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations, assessments, and diagnostic formulations via live synchronous video
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication management and psychotherapy, tailored to patient needs
  • Provide evidence-based talk therapy through live synchronous video and asynchronous messaging modalities
  • Monitor and evaluate patient response to treatment, adjusting interventions as necessary
  • Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and medication adherence
  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records (EHR) in compliance with all relevant regulations
  • Adhere to all ethical and professional standards of practice, including patient confidentiality and informed consent
  • Participate in team meetings, chart audits, and continuing education activities
  • Stay informed of current research, best practices, and advancements in psychiatric mental health and telehealth
  • Provide medication evaluation and management to patients within the LifeMD family of services including women's health, men's health, urgent care and other conditions, as needed by management

Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited nursing program with a specialization in Psychiatric Mental Health and Family Practice
  • Current, unencumbered PMHNP and FNP licenses in multiple states (additional state licenses may be required based on patient location)
  • Board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) and as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) through the ANCC
  • 2+ years of experience as a PMHNP, with demonstrated experience in telehealth
  • Proficiency in conducting psychiatric assessments and providing medication management
  • Experience in various psychotherapy modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, psychodynamic)
  • Familiarity with telehealth platforms and electronic health record (EHR) systems
