About the RoleAs an Uncommon Middle School English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher , you will ignite a passion for literature and foster an engaging classroom culture. You will guide students through the socio-emotional changes of middle school, emphasizing writing and discourse to empower them to find their voice. Our teachers are trained in research-based instructional strategies that prioritize discussion, enhance reading comprehension, and promote student agency. By the end of eighth grade, your students will be ready for the academic challenges of high school.

CompensationThe salary for this role ranges from $50,000 to $64,700 . Starting pay is determined by factors such as relevant teaching experience, education certifications, and tenure with Uncommon Schools. Candidates without full-time teaching experience will likely start at $50,000.
