Position Summary
The Facility Maintenance Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment across all shared spaces at the Clio plant. This includes daily and scheduled deep cleaning of locker rooms, restrooms, employee break rooms (both factory and office), and other high-traffic areas. This role supports health and safety compliance, employee well-being, and overall plant presentation.
Primary Responsibilities
🔹 Daily Cleaning Duties
- Clean and disinfect all restrooms (toilets, sinks, floors, mirrors, and partitions)
- Empty trash and recycling bins and replace liners in designated areas
- Sweep and mop floors in locker rooms, break rooms, and offices
- Wipe down tables, chairs, counters, appliances, and high-touch surfaces in break rooms
- Restock paper products, soap, and sanitizers as needed
🔹 Weekly Deep Cleaning Duties
- Scrub and disinfect walls, baseboards, vents, and floors in locker rooms and bathrooms
- Clean inside and behind kitchen appliances (microwaves, refrigerators, etc.)
- Power-scrub or degrease flooring where needed
- Remove dust, cobwebs, and buildup from corners, ceilings, and vents
- Disinfect lockers, benches, and factory break room seating areas
🔹 Additional Facility Support
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and submit restock requests
- Ensure janitorial storage areas remain clean and organized
- Report any facility maintenance issues (plumbing, HVAC, electrical)
- Follow OSHA safety procedures and internal cleaning protocols
- Support preparation for inspections, audits, or company events
Qualifications
- Prior custodial or facility maintenance experience required (industrial or plant setting preferred)
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment, chemicals, and SDS safety guidelines
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, kneel, and stand for long periods
- Strong attention to detail and personal accountability
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks efficiently
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Work Environment
- This role operates in a factory environment with exposure to dust, noise, and cleaning chemicals
- PPE may be required depending on cleaning tasks and area assignments
- Schedule may include early mornings, evenings, or weekends during plant events or cleanups
