Check and record the chlorine concentration and water temperature of the dishwashing machine at the start of the shift. Monitor the water temperatures during dishwashing cycles. Operate the dishwasher efficiently. Prepare nourishments and snacks as needed. Sweep, mop, and maintain kitchen floors. Remove trash and dispose of garbage properly. Organize and store groceries in a clean and safe manner. Ensure the kitchen is left clean and sanitary. Clean work surfaces, refrigerators, and other kitchen areas. Assist the Cook or Dietary Supervisor as needed. Participate in the orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff. Work effectively with personnel in all departments. Qualifications: Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Certifications: Must obtain and maintain a valid food handler's certificate. Physical Demands: This position requires the following physical abilities: Frequent standing, walking, and reaching with hands and arms. Occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds. Frequent talking, hearing, tasting, and smelling. Ability to perceive close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth vision, with the ability to adjust focus. Work Environment: The noise level is typically low to moderate.
